826 National is a non-profit organization driven to make reading and writing a sanctuary for K-12 students, producing authors who feel confident in their own skin. Their branding approach is interesting in that they draw inspiration from the history and culture of the location of the store, branding their stores to be a retail front for eclectic customers, such as a Superhero supplies store for Superheroes. In this iteration of such a store for Houston, Texas, a collaboration on User Research unveiled the culture of stargazing and travel in the area. (Read More)

In the vast passage of time, there has been certain mysteries and hysteria around the perception of time. From these moments emerge four artifacts, the Julian calendar, the 1900s daylights’ savings clock, the Maya long count calendar, and the 2000s Y2k digital clock. Each one carries a conspiracy around how time was manipulated and could signify catastrophic change if they were to come true. (Read More)

The Movement festival’s billboard on Russell Industrial Center  by Paxahau is a signifier of Summer’s arrival for the city of Detroit. The strong roots of Techno in the city along with the heat of the season inspired two different visual concepts in this collaborative sponsored project where the ultimate goal was a motion billboard from which the most organic snapshot of movement can be captured.
